5- 2/27/23 What think Ye of Christ

5-  Hello Family, It was fun to get to talk to you all over the last little bit. It’s the very best part of our day. These coughs have been frustrating for mama and I these past few weeks. It has made sleeping a little difficult. This week while laying in bed tossing, turning, and unable to sleep I was thinking of the question Jesus posed to the Pharisees during His ministry. What think ye of Christ? Related scriptures or talks from our prophet came to my mind and have been the source of my personal scripture study this week. This study has led me to think of not only what, but when, where, why, and how do I think of Christ. What think ye of Christ?   I know He is the son of God. He is the the source of my hope, and gives complete purpose to my life. I would be lost without this knowledge of Him. Once a person has a testimony of who He really is, and a desire to follow Him, it becomes life changing in every sense. It reminds me of the story in John when early discip...

4- 2/20/23 Book of Mormon and Christ and the New Covenant

4-   Hello Family, Sorry this is a day late. It was so wonderful to have all of you home this past weekend (minus our missionary, we missed you Miles, but are so proud you are exactly where you are at right now). I finished the the book Christ and the New Covenant by Elder Holland this week that mama gave me for Father’s Day. I really enjoyed reading it, and learning more about the Savior in the Book of Mormon. At the end Elder Holland shares his testimony of the Book of Mormon. I think it was the written version he has given in a talk before, because it was familiar to me. What a powerful witness he is of this sacred book. In his testimony he shared something that rang true to my own testimony of the Book of Mormon. Speaking of early childhood convictions he felt as a youth of the truthfulness of this record he said, “To those first convictions have been added, one way or another, all the other quickening movements and sanctifying manifestations that now give meaning to my da...

3- 2/12/23 Garments and Covenant Belonging

3-   Hello Family, This weeks email is a summary of the lesson I had to give today in our Elders Quorum meeting. I was able to choose a conference talk to lead a discussion on, and I decided to choose one that Miles has recently studied, Elder Bednar’s talk titled Put On Thy Strength, O Zion. I would encourage each of you to re-read and study this message as there is so much there to apply to our day to day lives. The part I want to focus on is the garment that the man in the parable chose not to wear. Here are some meaning things I have learned in my study that I wanted to share with you. We all are invited to the wedding, but we get to choose to accept the invitation or not. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have chosen to accept this invite. The goal now is to willingly and gratefully put on the wedding garment that the king has provided for us to wear. In the book of Revelations John teaches us what this garment is. Revelations 19:8, “and she should be arrayed in fine linen...

2- 2/6/2023 Our Day Star is RIsing- New Testament

2- Hello Family, I hope you have had a great week! Mama and I are praying for each one of you. Elder Miller, keep up the great work, we are excited to hear all about your new companion and all about the work that is happening. We love you! Mama, for Christmas, gave me a book written by Elder Holland entitled  Our Day Star Rising . It is a book of commentary on the New Testament and I have been studying it in following along with the Come Follow Me Curriculum for this year.  This week part of our study has been in Mathew Chapter 4. This Chapter details temptations the Savior underwent as Satan approached Him at the end of his forty days of fasting.  There are so many lessons we can learn from this experience in the Savior’s life. No doubt we all feel the relentless knocking of Satan at our doors, sometimes on a daily basis. Here are a couple of thoughts as I studied this experience The adversary knows us each very well. He knows our current circumstances, and strug...
