27- (8-1-23) God's Perfect Plan
27- God's Perfect Plan (8/1/23)
Dear Family,
Another week has flown by. It was fun to be together
this past weekend (we missed you Elder Miller).
This week I have been studying about how our Heavenly
Father interacts with and blesses His children. As a father, I can’t help but
think that this must be His favorite thing to do. My study tied in nicely with
what Emma shared at Come Follow Me this week, and the scripture Miles shared at
the end of his weekly email. That God is a God of Miracles and He chooses to
bless us as often as we let Him.
One way that our Heavenly Father interacts with us and
blesses us is by allowing us to assist Him in His work. Emma shared some
thoughts from a talk given by Elder Uchtdorf about missionary work that
highlight or illustrate this principle. In this talk he shared five things that
we can each do to help gather Israel. As we act in accordance with these
prophetic teachings we literally find ourselves interacting with God through
the Holy Ghost, and we see begin to see His hand miraculously in our lives and
in the lives those we love more regularly.
Here are the five steps from Elder Uchtdorf’s talk
Emma shared with us. Think about God creating His master plan and how covenants
and gathering give our Heavenly Father so many touch points to bless us His
children. What a perfect plan!
1- Draw close to God
2 - Fill your heart with love for others
3 - Strive to walk the path of discipleship
4 - Share what is in your heart
5 - Trust the Lord to work His miracles
Miles said it best this week when he shared this Book
of Mormon scripture:
For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and
I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever;
and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.
(2 Nephi 27:23)
Invitation - Trust Him by exercising your faith
through obedience, then look for His hand (miracles) in your life. How can we
each better share with others the joy the Gospel brings to us? Consider how the
Gathering of Israel (missionary work) fulfills God’s purposes for both the
gatherer and the gathered. Pretty ingenious plan!
Love you all so much,
Dad
