 28- COnstant Nourishment          (8/7/23)


This week in the temple the importance for “constant nourishment” to our body and spirit was reiterated to me. As Adam and Eve transitioned from a Terrestrial environment to one Telestial, God blessed and taught them about the gift of a Savior He would provide for them, allowing them once again to one day enter into His presence. He also emphasized then at the very beginning of this telestial state the need of a “coats of skin” or garment to be given which would symbolize and remind us of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of the covenants we made. 


When the symbols of the garment are taught to us we learn the important truth that constant nourishment to our body and spirit is essential, and a critical component for our spiritual survival. Consider that the garment was one of the first blessings or gifts given to us from Our Heavenly Father. He sees their necessary role in reminding us through symbols that Jesus Christ has power given to Him to cover all “our nakedness”. Any guilt, shame, weakness, frailty or imperfection can and will be overcome or “covered” by the Atonement of Jesus Christ if we choose to be obedient to His laws, ordinances and covenants. 


An important question we each must ask ourselves regularly is - How am I doing in providing this constant nourishment to my body and spirit? What changes do I need to make?


Invitation: When the Spirit whispers to you of a needed change, make it happen! 

When you get the opportunity each time you return to the temple (after being endowed) to be taught and reminded of the garments and their role in your life, consider how they are given as a blessing and a gift from a loving Heavenly Father, who in His infinite wisdom saw the their essential need for His children while in mortality.

 Hello Family, Happy New Year! It is New Year’s Eve, and we are gathered all together in Ogden, Utah. What a treat to be all together! As Lainey would say, “I love you guys!” This weekend I have watched each of you set time aside to plan and to make New Year’s Resolutions, pondering on things that you would like to add or improve in your life. I love that! A life without purpose is a life of complacency. Goals put us in a place to act, and to do. You each know who you are and what your purpose is, and this brings so much joy to Mama and I.  45 (12-4-2023) I Need Thee Every Hour Dear Family, This scripture has stayed with me over the past couple of weeks, and has helped me several times. The message has gained greater meaning for me as I try to apply it.
