 53- 2/12/24

This week I spent some time listening and studying again President Nelson’s address Think Celestial.

The invitation this week is to consider how to apply the prophet’s teachings into our everyday lives. Everyone of us will be different, but the source of strength is the same. (I’ve put in quotations the prophets words below)

“Today, to assist you to qualify for the rich blessings Heavenly Father has for you, I invite you to adopt the practice of “thinking celestial”!

  • “During my healing, the Lord has manifested His divine power in peaceful and unmistakable ways.”
    • Think of a struggle you have had, or are having…. List the unmistakable ways you have felt power and peace in your struggle. Being able to see His hand in our lives is a major part of the power we receive.

  • “An understanding of God’s fabulous plan takes the mystery out of life and the uncertainty out of our future.”
    • Take a minute to ponder this truth. We never have to feel uncertain about our future if we place our trust in our Heavenly Father, and His plan. All will work out for our good as we strive to follow Jesus Christ.

  • “Here is the great news of God’s plan: the very things that will make your mortal life the best it can be are exactly the same things that will make your life throughout all eternity the best it can be!”
    • I love this. We don’t have to play both sides of the line, with one foot chasing our temporal pursuits, and the other foot striving to find spiritual balance. We can just do our best in emulating the Savior at everything we are involved.

Question: How have, or how can, you apply this? Give it some prayer and thought.

  • “When you are confronted with a dilemma, think celestial!”
  • “When tested by temptation, think celestial!”
  • “When life or loved ones let you down, think celestial!”
  • “When the pressures of life crowd in upon you, think celestial!”

“As you think celestial, your heart will gradually change. You will want to pray more often and more sincerely.”

“As you think celestial, you will view trials and opposition in a new light.”

“The temple is a place of revelation. There you are shown how to progress toward a celestial life. There you are drawn closer to the Savior and given greater access to His power. There you are guided in solving the problems in your life, even your most perplexing problems.”

“Please do the spiritual work to increase your capacity to receive personal revelation.”

This talk has helped me be more spiritually minded in the things I sometimes wouldn’t think to be, especially in regards to work. It has helped me find more peace in the stress, and patience in the process. It ALWAYS refocuses me on what is most important. I’m grateful for a living prophet!

Love you all,

Dad
