59 (3-25-24) Lifelong Conversion

59 (3-25-24)  Lifelong Conversion  Elder Renlund - Lifelong Conversion  Mama gave me a talk to read this week by Elder Renlund for Come follow me. If you have time and would like to listen or read it I would recommend it.  Here are a few of the highlights: Lifelong conversion means that we endure to the end, remaining firm in our commitment to keep the covenants we have made with God—no matter what.  Such a commitment cannot be conditional or dependent upon the circumstances in our lives. Engage with the doctrine of Christ We are invited to get on the covenant path, stay on the covenant path, and  participate in the doctrine’s specified elements. Faith in Jesus Christ- How do we exercise faith? - Only through Obedience to His commandments Repentance - Approaching God with a broken heart and contrite spirit: Daily commitment to change Baptism -    Sacrament: This is the connector of Faith and Repentance to the Holy Ghost The Spirit is t...

58 (3-18-24) Apostles and Prophets

58 (3-18-24) Apostles and Prophets Hello Family, This has been a special past weekend. Not only did we have Emma home, but we also had the treat of having Elder Cook at our Stake Conference. Mama was able to go to a leadership session with him and then our general session on Sunday. Just to be in the midst of an apostle of Jesus Christ is such a blessing for us. Elder Cook gave a powerful and sure testimony of the Savior, and the Holy Ghost witnessed to my heart again that this work is true. We are led by a living prophet today and Jesus Christ stands at the head of His church, actively directing its affairs. I am grateful for these types of experiences. Do all you can to never miss one of these opportunities as they present themselves throughout your lives. They strengthen testimony! I will keep this short this week. Two specific invitations: Invitation #1 - This week we are studying 2Nephi 31-33. Please take the time to read and study these chapters. They are some of the most po...

57- 3-11-2024 Personal Revelation

57 3-11-2024 For Valentines Day mama gave me President Nelson’s new book, The Heart of the Matter. I’m not all the way through it yet, but it is excellent. It’s really just a compilation of all of his talks over the years since he has been called to be the prophet, but organized in a way that really builds on how to live a life as a disciple of Jesus Christ.   One of the things I’ve learned most from President Nelson over the last several years is the need for personal revelation in our lives, and how to prepare to receive that revelation. The Holy Ghost has witnessed to me over and over again that what our prophet is teaching us is true. I am grateful that I know how to live my life to be in tune to my Heavenly Father’s direction. I am even more grateful that all of you know how to do the same. This week Miles shared with us several examples of personal revelation, whether it was one of his friends seeking answers to their prayers or just inspiration he received during his n...

56 (3-4-2024) Improving Relationships

56 (3-4-2024) Hello Family,   It is March, can you believe it! Time keeps flying by.   This week for mutual we had an activity to help the Deacons (most of them are brand new 11 yr olds, and the older ones like Ace seem brand new) memorize and learn the Aaronic Priesthood Theme. Each quorum meeting we stand and recite this theme before class begins. Because it is new to them, no one really knows it. We decided to have an activity to help them not only memorize it, but to think about what it means to them. Here is the theme:   Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Theme    I am a beloved son of God, and He has a work for me to do.   With all my heart, might, mind, and strength, I will love God, keep my covenants, and use His priesthood to serve others,  beginning in my own home.   As I strive to serve, exercise faith, repent, and improve each day, I will qualify to receive temple blessings and the enduring joy of the gospel.   I will prepare to beco...
