Line upon Line


Hello Family,


Graham, Lainey, and I had a great weekend with Sadie, Seth, Emma, and Noah this past weekend. We missed having Avery and mama with us though. Thanks again to the Jones family for hosting. Such great memories!


Here is a text that I received from Salvador this week.


“Hi Roarke, Good morning.Thank you for reminding me of conferences. They were awesome, and like I always said they are so smart. I would like to have the same knowledge and wisdom they use in life. Have a great week brother, I love you.”


I love that he can recognize the wisdom and truth spoken in conference. I know that not only he, but all of us, can gain this same wisdom, knowledge, and truth if we have a desire, and make they effort to seek for it in our lives. The scriptures teach us this over and over again:



“For he will give unto the faithful line upon line, precept upon precept; and I will try you and prove you herewith.” (D&C 98:12)


What power shall stay the heavens? As well might man stretch forth his puny arm to stop the Missouri river in its decreed course, or to turn it up stream, as to hinder the Almighty from pouring down knowledge from heaven upon the heads of the Latter-day Saints. (D&C 121:33)


“I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy; And … by this shall you know, all things whatsoever you desire of me, which are pertaining unto things of righteousness, in faith believing in me that you shall receive” (D&C 11:11–14)


Invitation: Continue to seek for personal revelation. And speaking from experience,  when the desire to earnestly seek isn’t there, stop and consider all that you have been blessed with, and all that you hope for. This will bring the Holy Ghost’s presence again, to rekindle your desire to seek what it is He would have you do.

  We can’t wait to all be together this weekend. Mama and I were talking last night about when the next time we might all be together at home again after this weekend and she mentioned it might not be until April Conference time next year.  Hello Family, Happy New Year! It is New Year’s Eve, and we are gathered all together in Ogden, Utah. What a treat to be all together! As Lainey would say, “I love you guys!” This weekend I have watched each of you set time aside to plan and to make New Year’s Resolutions, pondering on things that you would like to add or improve in your life. I love that! A life without purpose is a life of complacency. Goals put us in a place to act, and to do. You each know who you are and what your purpose is, and this brings so much joy to Mama and I. This purpose is innate in each one of us, and as we listen to, and follow the Spirit we will continue to strive to become better. The Hope we have that we can be successful at this improvement comes from our faith in Jesus Christ.  45 (12-4-2023) I Need Thee Every Hour Dear Family, This scripture has stayed with me over the past couple of weeks, and has helped me several times. The message has gained greater meaning for me as I try to apply it. I thought this week I would share a few examples of its application in my own life,    and invite you to consider ways to apply it in yours. 2 Nephi 9:39    Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal. President Nelson defined thinking Celestial as being spiritually minded. The prophet Jacob defined here the same way, as “life eternal”.
