108- 3/17/25 MEEKNESS

Happy Spring Break to those that get one :) Avery is super excited to come and spend time with her older siblings (and brother-in-laws) who she looks up to so much. Thanks for having her and making this week special for her.

Last week, durning our Come Follow Me,  Avery shared some thoughts from Elder Bednar’s talk given in 2018 “Meek and Lowly of Heart”.  I wrote down in my scriptures the following quote she shared from Elder Bednar that has helped shed new light on the Christlike attribute of meekness.

Elder Bednar: “Meekness is a defining attribute of the Redeemer and is distinguished by righteous responsiveness, willing submissiveness, and strong self-restraint.”

Consider those three distinguishing features. How can we apply them in our lives? I have always thought of meekness as this “willing submissiveness”, but it has taken on new meaning for me as I consider coupling it with righteous self-restraint.

Here is a promise from the Savior, “…. the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.” (Psalm 37:11)

Invitation: Ask ourselves the following: How would I define meekness? Who do I know that embodies this Christlike attribute? What do I need to do do to show more meekness in my character?

I love you all, and hope you have an amazing week!
